Operation Warrior Relief

Current Mission

Operation Warrior Relief provides support- financial, material, and personal- to military personnel in Active, Reserve, and Veteran status, as well as their families, as circumstances warrant.

History

16 October 2003 USAF Chaplain Wendel Barnett briefed the detachment on needs from Operation Iraqi Freedom. The detachment began OPERATION WARRIOR RELIEF and shipped pallet-loads of clothing, equipment, phone cards, and other supplies to Landstuhl hospital and Ramstein Air Base Germany for the wounded troops.

These supplies, including our signature black backpacks, became some of the first tangible signs that we at home were aware of their needs and stood with them. They carried these supplies with them as they moved on to Bethesda Naval Hospital or Walter Reed Army Hospital, or home to recover further.

As Operation Iraqi Freedom wound down and needs arose from other places, OWR shifted its mission to address the shifting needs.

Recent Donations have been made to the Philadelphia Veterans Comfort House and Marine Corps League of Pennsylvania Foundation.

America First Car Show

The 2017 version of this event is the 13th annual edition. As the primary fundraiser for OWR, the Car Show has been fulfilling the promise we made to help our military service men and women and families, long before the name was used in election campaigns. The date and time are listed on the calendar.
